Join us for the South Australian Launch of:

Australian Lives: An Intimate History by Anisa Puri and Alistair Thomson.

This is a major new oral history publication from the Australian Generations Oral History Project and Monash University Publishing. The book captures in text and audio the extraordinary life stories of 50 so-called ‘ordinary’ Australians.

This event is free and open to the public, but to help us with catering please reserve your ticket today.

Time: 4:30pm for a 4:45pm start

Where: Hetzel Lecture Theatre, State Library of South Australia

The event will feature:

  • author Anisa Puri talking about the delights and challenges of making a book based on 1221 hours of life history interviews
  • a discussion between Australian Generations interviewer Dr Karen George and interviewee Michelle Cripps about what it was like to create Michelle’s life story interview
  • the SA launch of the book by President of the History Council of SA, Professor Peter Monteath, and Dr David Sweet, Secretary of Oral History Australia
  • wine and nibbles
  • copies of the paperback available for purchase – cash only sale on the day.
