Recording of 40th anniversary lecture now available

The lecture by Professor Alistair Thomson – Forty Years On: The Transformations of Oral History – given last September is now available for you to listen to here.

Professor Thomson, the current president of Oral History Australia, reflected on the transformations of oral history across the last 40 years, in Australia and abroad. Starting with his first interview with his grandmother in 1979, and covering both community and academic oral history, he drew on examples from his own interviews with war veterans, migrants and in the Australian Generations project to illuminate the history of oral history and its abiding value and impact.
