Interview with Michael Papazoglou
Michael Papazoglou was born in the village of Glikokerasia in the Prefecture of Kozani, Greece. He discusses his family’s origins in the region of Pontos in Asia Minor and the expulsion of the Pontian Greeks during the Greco/Turkish war in the early 1920s. He recounts the dramatic events of the Greek Civil war and his family’s determination to survive against adversity. Despite an initial reluctance to migrate with his family at 17, Michael discovered a new found freedom and safety in his new country.
