2022 History Festival theme revealed!
The History Festival dates are set for 1-31 May of 2022. The theme for 2022 is: REIMAGINE
The 2022 theme represents an opportunity to be bold and reimagine events in terms of content as well as presentation. Here are a few ideas from the History Trust to get your brainstorming started:
- How have stories been an important tool in your community? Reimagine the ones that have united people for a cause, started a new project or ended an injustice.
- Consider partnering with an artist in your community to engage young people in creating artworks about significant events in your community’s history. If your local council is keen, you might even consider commissioning a public mural!
- Team up with a local actor to take on a character from history and tell their story from a first-person perspective.
- Have you reimagined your approach to research and sharing history in a way that has opened up new possibilities and discoveries?
- What’s a story that is firmly embedded in the public or community consciousness? How can you help visitors to reimagine the dominant narrative by providing more information to give a fuller picture?
