The Oral History Handbook was first published by the South Australian Branch of the Oral History Association in 1983 and has been in print ever since. It is well established as the national standard. It is currently in its fifth edition.

This guide has been prepared by Oral History Australia SA/NT as an introductory resource for those undertaking, or planning to undertake, an oral history in South Australia or the Northern Territory.

We highly recommend that you read the material in it, and also participate in a hands-on training workshop and refer to the detailed information in the Oral History Handbook, by Beth Robertson.
